Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Fire modelling, also known as smoke modelling, is a fire-engineered solution designed to predict and prevent the spread of fires within a building. Using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), we employ fundamental equations to understand and predict heat transfer and fluid flow during fires. This process involves creating a to-scale model of the building and inputting relevant data to analyse how dimensions, structure, layout, and materials impact the movement of heat, smoke, and fire.
Fire Strategy Plans
A fire strategy is a comprehensive document specifically tailored to a building, reviewing all aspects of its fire safety features, including construction, compartmentation strategy, means of escape, and other fire safety measures and management arrangements. This ensures the building is fit for use for its intended purpose. While approved documents provide guidance for meeting Building Regulations in new residential and commercial buildings, they are not legally enforced, unlike the Building Regulations. Alternative approaches, such as those in BS 9999 or a fire-engineered approach, may also be used in developing a fire strategy.

Fire Risk Assessments (Levels 1-4)
Fire risk assessments are provided to commercial buildings across the UK by Fire Right Limited. A fire risk assessment might identify an electrical fire hazard in a specific area. The assessor may recommend installing a suitable firefighting appliance, such as a CO2 fire extinguisher, and providing training for staff on how to use it. If a fire were to break out in this area, the trained staff could use the extinguisher to tackle the fire in its early stages, thereby reducing the overall impact, protecting occupants, and minimizing property damage.
